Final Report on the Great Lakes Cassava Initiative

Cassava roots account for more than one third of all kilocalories consumed in many parts of the Great Lakes Region of sub-Saharan Africa. Cassava Mosaic Disease and Cassava Brown Streak Disease have compromised this staple crop. The Great Lakes Cassava Initiative was developed to respond to the cassava crisis. This final report summarizes the project's approach, results, and lessons learned.
