Cameroon Students Battle Corruption With FACTS
While corruption has been identified as one of the root causes of Cameroon's slow economic growth and poverty, scores of Cameroonian students are learning to use integrity as a mechanism for change. "Children grow up to be leaders who will eventually change the face of the country," says the headmaster of one Catholic school that has implemented the Fight Against Corruption Through Schools (FACTS) program.
With support from Catholic Relief Services, the FACTS program is working in 88 Catholic schools to bring about a more just, equitable country by fending off corruption at every level of society. Working with students, educators say, is vital to reducing the culture of corruption and cultivating a better future.
"Cameroonians from all walks of life, let us push off corruption and guarantee the future of our country," says one student. This video shows students and educators taking a stand to change the corrupt behavior that restricts the country's growth.
