Doreen Arinaitwe Kahilgwa is a young

href="http://crs.org/uganda/">Ugandan woman whose gracious spirit and smile are instantly captivating. Orphaned when her parents died of

href="http://crs.org/hiv-aids/">AIDS, she was left to care for herself and

her younger brother. Doreen's circumstances soon took a turn for the worse. "We

were thrown out of the house. We had no shelter. We had no food. We had no

education," she says. Today, Doreen is a loving mother, wife and teacher

who thanks Catholic Relief Services for

href="http://gifts.crs.org/">giving her the support she needed. "There was a light in my life and it shines," she says.
