Programmatic Potential for an Aging Population

With so much attention given by international development organizations to children, youth, mothers, and people with disabilities, our elderly have often been forgotten. Uniquely, this population can be characterized both as wisdom-givers and as vulnerable (i.e., not all elderly, of course, but many). But how are they being targeted, assisted, and empowered?

In 2022, CRS conducted an internal assessment of our staff and programming in light of this growing segment of the world’s population. This document provides a short summary with recommendations.
