Seed Demand Forecasting in Ethiopia

Assessment and Recommendations for a Technical Roadmap

S34D carried out a study in the Amhara and Oromia regions to assess the demand forecasting system and methodological approaches employed to forecast demand. Results point to opportunities for improvement within the system, including in the areas of methodologies, infrastructure, communication, technical capacity, resource mobility, awareness creation about both new and existing varieties demanded at markets, seed distribution, and marketing.
