Wellness for Agriculture and Life Advancement Activity (WALA)

A retrospective of three studies on the impact of watershed restoration

The purpose of this brief is to summarize key studies of the WALA program and share the impacts watershed restoration had on the resilience of WALA communities. These findings and lessons learned make the case for continued and deeper investment in restoration of degraded land as a means to address root causes of food and livelihood insecurity. It is believed that lessons herein have application in other parts of Malawi and many other areas of the continent.
