Development and Reconstruction
Destroyed buildings and infrastructures are visible signs of war. Buildings need to be rebuilt as part of recovery efforts and this is a natural part of Catholic Relief Services' development programming in countries such as Burundi, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Angola and Sudan.
In these communities, CRS strives to work with groups across traditional conflict lines. For example, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, reconstruction programming has very carefully involved multi-ethnic participation through Community Working Groups, which help identify program priorities and participants from their respective communities.
