Twelve days after Typhoon Haiyan slammed the central Philippines, the estimate of damaged homes reached 650,000—and about half of them were destroyed. Catholic Relief Services moved immediately to put survivors under shelters.
A key element of these shelters is an extremely durable tarp designed to protect families in diverse conditions and environments. CRS will make at least 39,000 tarps available to Haiyan survivors by the end of the month.
