Closer Walk, Better Lives, Rice Bowl

Of all seasons, Lent holds a unique place at Catholic Relief Services.

It's a time when we see the faithful voluntarily make sacrifices in recognition of what many people experience as a permanent fact of life. It's a season set aside by the Church to help us walk more closely with God.

What you give up for Lent changes lives.

For 40 years, we have offered CRS Rice Bowl as a way to walk with Catholics in the United States. By providing reflections, stories about the people we serve, recipes for simple meals and opportunities for sacrificial giving, CRS Rice Bowl helps deepen our understanding of how fundamental our faith is to how we view the world.

And for 40 years, Catholics in the United States have participated in CRS Rice Bowl as a part of their Lenten tradition to serve their poorest brothers and sisters at home and overseas. They deepen their relationship with God by serving the "least of these."
